Volunteer Spotlight- Jim Sheehy

Volunteer Spotlight- René Botha
NILMDTS Ireland simply would not exist without the dedication, time and compassion of our wonderful (and growing!) team of volunteers.
We are honoured to share some of their stories and journeys with you in this Volunteer Spotlight series of posts.

Thank you Michelle!
Michelle LaGrue is one of the founding members of NILMDTS Ireland, and has made an incredible and much appreciated contribution to our work.
As well as personally capturing portraits of 102 babies, Michelle has been deeply involved in spreading knowledge about the charity, spearheading recruitment, leading training, development and DRA assistance.
For the moment Michelle is stepping back from her NILMDTS work, having achieved her personal (and incredible) goal of helping over 100 families. We wish her all the very best in everything she does.
Michelle’s impact on so many bereaved families goes beyond words. We are so grateful to her for her time, energy, talent, compassion and advocacy.
Thank you Michelle.

Celebrating 30 Years of Recognition: Honouring Our Stillborn Babies
Nearly 30 years ago, the stillbirth register was established, granting recognition to stillborn babies. Recent updates include revised criteria for stillbirth registration and an optional public stillbirth record, ensuring these precious lives are remembered and honoured.

Our Journey with Lughaidh
The support we received from NILMDTS Ireland was invaluable after the loss of our son, Lughaidh. Though we couldn't have a photographer in the hospital, the retouched photos provided by NILMDTS Ireland allowed us to preserve precious memories, essential for our grieving process.

Our Volunteers: Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Work
Our volunteers are ordinary people who do extraordinary work, offering comfort and remembrance to families facing infant loss. Read their heartfelt stories about why they chose to volunteer, their experiences, and the rewarding impact they have on grieving families.

Healing Through Memory: Honouring Your Baby's Legacy
NILMDTS Ireland supports families navigating the loss of a baby by offering remembrance photography and other meaningful ways to preserve memories. Our resources include tips on creating a legacy, honouring rituals, and helpful suggestions for family and friends.
