Our Board

Meet the dedicated board members of NILMDTS Ireland, a compassionate team committed to providing remembrance photography and support to families experiencing the loss of a baby.

Meet the Board

  • Jim is a Dub married to a Wicklow woman and now living in West Kerry, having previously lived in Drogheda and Limerick. They have three children and seven grandchildren.

Jim joined NILMDTS in 2015 as a photographer covering County Kerry and travels to Cork and Limerick when needed also. He is also a Digital Retouch artist and has, since 2023 become the area coordinator for Ireland, the chair of the board, and has successfully brought NILMDTS Ireland through the charity registration process.

Jim’s motivation for getting involved resulted from his parents losing three babies and the family’s regret at not having any photographs of these children. His work with NILMDTS Ireland is in their memory.

  • Anne Marie’s experience of NILMDTS Ireland began in January 2015 when her first son, Max was stillborn. A midwife told Anne Marie and her husband about the services of NILMDTS Ireland. 10 years on these photos, and Anne Marie’s gratitude for NILMDTS Ireland in capturing these precious memories are as strong and important as ever.

Anne Marie also does a lot of work with Feileacain who have and continue to provide support and community to her and her family.

She has two other children who are able to know their big brother in some small way thanks to these images from NILMDTS. Anne Marie joined the board of NILMDTS Ireland in 2023 with a focus on communication.

    She became Chair in 2025.

  • Bláth became involved with NILMDTS in late 2017 as a community volunteer - answering the phone and arranging sessions.  Over time she got more involved then in the administration of the Dispatch team and she is constantly in awe of how generous people in NILMDTS Ireland are with their time, their talents and most importantly their empathy and compassion for families who are experiencing such pain.

She joined the board in 2023 with a focus on recruitment, training and process improvement.

Bláth’s work with NILMDTS is in honour of the short and perfect life of her son Oisín.

  • In 2007, Michelle’s first child, Caoimhe, was stillborn at 38 weeks. With no access to professional remembrance photography at the time, Michelle - already passionate about photography - used her own camera to capture every precious moment she could. Those photos remain deeply treasured by her family.

Seven years later, Michelle found herself on an unexpected path as a newborn photographer. Looking back, she sees how Caoimhe’s photos, and those of her three younger children, quietly guided her in that direction. With each new family whose images she took, she found herself wishing that she had these photos for her precious Caoimhe.

After reading an article in The Examiner about NILMDTS Ireland, Michelle felt drawn to offer remembrance photography to other families. At first, she worried she might not be emotionally strong enough, or that her photos wouldn’t be good enough. But in 2019, she took the leap and qualified. Then Covid hit.

Although the journey took longer than expected, Michelle now says it’s one of the best decisions she’s ever made. Her work honours each baby’s life, offering families a lasting memory of someone deeply loved. The sessions are not just filled with sorrow, but with tenderness and connection. Even if the photos are never hung on walls, they remain a powerful reminder: this baby was here, and this baby mattered.

Michelle joined the board of NILMDTS Ireland in October 2025.

  • Michelle joined the NILMDTS Ireland team in 2020 as a member of the dispatch team. She joined the board in 2023 and is a perfect fit for the role of treasurer with her experience within financial services.

Michelle’s work in the charity is in honour of her son Charlie who passed away in 2010 at only 11 days old. She discovered the work of NILMDTS in the months and years after Charlie’s death and always wishes she had images like this. Michelle honours Charlie’s short but precious life in helping to arrange these imagesfor other bereaved parents.

Michelle is also a volunteer with A Little Lifetime Foundation who provide support to bereaved families. They found so much love and support in the weeks, months and years since Charlie died.

They have since gone on to have 2 living children who both know  all about their big brother in the stars.

  • Cathy has been a photographer with NILMDTS Ireland since 2014. As well as photographing babies and their families, Cathy is a very skilled digital retoucher and is a key member of our DRA team.

Cathy joined NILMDTS Ireland after seeing the importance of a single polaroid photo her friend had of her precious baby who died many years ago. Her friend impressed upon Cathy the importance of her single photo and so Cathy joined NILMDTS Ireland to help provide a lasting memory to other bereaved families.

Cathy joined the board in 2024.

  • Randy is a long standing volunteer photographer and member of the NILMDTS board in America. He joined the board of NILMDTS Ireland in 2023 as the US board representative.
